The Complete Guide to Intimate Wellness
Short answer: hydration first, subtraction second, addition third, supplement fourth. In that order, because that is the order of effect size — and almost everyone starts at four.
This is the top-level guide. Every subtopic below has its own page with the detail; this one exists so you can see how the pieces fit before deciding which one you actually need.
Everything here is either mechanical — this is what the fluid is made of — or labelled honestly as thin evidence. Where the research is weak, we say so, including where that costs us a sale.
- The two starting points
- Semen is alkaline at pH 7.2–8.0 — the tongue reads alkaline as bitter. Vaginal fluid is acidic at pH 3.8–4.5 — which reads as tangy. They are different by design, and neither is a fault.
- What actually moves the needle
- Hydration, then removing cigarettes, alcohol, coffee and sulphur-rich foods, then adding fruit. Removal outperforms addition, because clearance is faster than production.
- The realistic timeline
- 24–48 hours for hydration, three to seven days for a real shift, two to four weeks for a stable baseline, four to six weeks for the best it gets.
- Where a supplement fits
- Fourth. It is a consistency mechanism, not a stronger mechanism — the daily fruit input on the days you would not otherwise manage it.
- Where medicine fits
- A strong fishy odour, itching, unusual discharge or pain is a clinical problem. BV is treated with metronidazole; yeast with fluconazole. No supplement substitutes for either.
- What nobody achieves
- Tasting like fruit. The realistic outcome is a milder, cleaner version of your own baseline — which is genuinely achievable in a week.
Which page do you actually need?
- Curious what is normal — semen taste or vaginal taste.
- Want to change it — the food list, then the timeline.
- Wondering about pineapple — the honest answer.
- Dealing with odour — causes and fixes.
- Something feels wrong — BV or yeast.
- Considering a product — how to choose one.
- Mostly worried — start here instead.
